Donald Ray Chandler

Mr. Donald Ray Chandler, 83, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Surry County on March 29, 1939, to the late Louis and Lillie Mathis Chandler.  Mr. Chandler was owner of Don Chandler Construction Company.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara Slate Chandler; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Lynda Chandler, Todd Chandler, and Steve and Amy Chandler; grandchildren, Anna and Erik Obst, Brad Chandler, Zach and Johanna Chandler, Kristen and Tyler Riddle, Katie Rotenizer, Alexandra Jones, Kelly Chandler, Taylor and Austin Newman, Tanner Jones; great grandchildren, Kayslee Rotenizer, Eoghan Obst, Violet Chandler, Raegan Riddle, Eabha Obst, and Charlie Chandler; sisters, Peggy Webb, and Brenda Hiatt; a sister-in-law, Linda Chandler; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Lovill, Janie Bondurant, and Lois Chandler; brothers, Billy Chandler, Johnny Chandler, Wade Chandler, and Larry Chandler.  A funeral service will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Heath officiating.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
