Donald Ray Jones

Mr. Donald Ray Jones, age 62 of Trinity, husband of Argie Norris Jones, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at his home. Mr. Jones was born in Surry County, May 26, 1944 to Flora Hicks Jones and the late James Edward Jones. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are his devoted wife, Argie Norris Jones of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and James Lowe of Trinity; Cheryl and Tanveer Iqbal of Archdale; Dawn Mabe of Kernersville; Michelle Jones of High Point; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Cathy Benton of Sophia; Timmy Jones and Terry Jones both of Thomasville; Jeremy Benton of the home; sixteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his mother, Flora Hicks Jones of Mt. Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Teddy Winfrey of Yadkinville; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Gloria Jones; Bobby and Linda Jones; John and Sharon Jones; Calvin and Linda Jones all of Mt. Airy and Clinton and Kaye Jones of Kernersville; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. In addition to his father, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Donald Edward Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Thomas Shortt. Burial will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
