Donald Grey Moorefield

 Mr. Donald "Don" Grey Moorefield, age 71, of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday Morning, January 12, 2024 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born on August 12, 1952 in Buncombe County to the late Cecil and  Margie Doss Moorefield.  Mr. Moorefield loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He also loved telling people about him.  He loved telling what all God brought him through.  He suffered without ever complaining through many health issues.  He would tell how the Lord brought him through them all because he wasn’t through with him yet.  Now God has taken him to his heavenly home where he will spend eternity with family and the Lord he longed to see.  Left to cherish his memory are his son, Dusty Moorefield, grandchild, Cody Moorefield ; two great-grandchildren, sister, Jenny Moorefield, and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold Moorefield (Gail).  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church with service conducted by Rev. Travis Sechrist and Rev. Sammy Lawson.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mr. Moorefield to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice home in Dobson.
