Donald Lee Mosley

Mr. Donald Lee Mosley, 80, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday afternoon, October 29, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, after a short illness.  Mr. Mosley was born April 19, 1938, in Surry County, one of seven children born to the late John William and Maude Ella Hemmings Mosley.  Donald retired as the body shop manager from Advantage Truck Center in Greensboro and was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church.  He is survived by his fiancée, Frances M. Casstevens of Mount Airy; a son-in-law, George Ellery Golding of Dobson; a granddaughter, Tiffany Golding of Asheville; a great-granddaughter, Amelia McLean of Asheville; a sister, Ola Mosley Teague of Winston-Salem; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Jack and Stacy Mosley, Virginia Mosley, and Anita Mosley, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Mosley was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Lee Thomas Mosley; two infant daughters, Melissa Gail Mosley and Lisa Michelle Mosley; a daughter, Beverly Sue Mosley Golding; two sisters, Barbara Jane Mosley Nixon and Marcelene Mosley Ramsey; and two brothers, Alpha Mosley and James Ardeen Mosley.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Community Baptist Church, with Tiffany Golding, the Rev. Bradley L. Quesinberry, and the Rev. Larry Stone officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service.  At other times, the family welcomes friends to the home of Frances M. Casstevens at 551 Casstevens Road, Mount Airy.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Community Baptist Church, c/o Pam Sewell, 198 Delaware Avenue, Mount Airy, NC  27030.
