Donald Emanuel Remen

Mr. Donald Emanuel Remen, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born April 28, 1927, in Fairpoint, OH, to the late Joseph and Anna Kresach Remen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, John Remen, Dorothy Robb, and James Remen. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Deatherage Remen; three children and their spouses, Sharron and Wayne Metcalfe, Donald Jr. and Minda Remen, and Diane and Tom Prenkert; two stepchildren and their spouses, Steven and Linnea Spradlin and Sonia and Greg Schmidt; ten grandchildren, Dawn Jones, Melissa Stroze, Pamela Metcalfe, Rebecca Metcalfe, Jilliann Prenkert, Michael Prenkert, Nicholas Spradlin, Sammy Jo Spradlin, Levi Schmidt, and Lacy Schmidt; and three great-grandchildren, Casey Stroze, Tommy Stroze, and Isaiah Spradlin. Mr. Remen's body was cremated and no other services will be held. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Remen family.
