Mr. Donald Gray Snow, 65, of 113 Old Brintle Street, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, December 15, 2006, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. Mr. Snow was born August 24, 1941, in Surry County, to Ola Gertrude Stewart Snow and the late Mitchell Thomas Snow. He owned and operated Don G. Snow Company, Inc. and was a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. Mr. Snow was the chairman of the Surry County Planning Board for 10 years. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carmen Hamby Snow of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Dennis Brintle of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Milissa Nicole Brintle and Tiffany Lynn Brintle, both of Mount Airy, and Zachary Smith Brintle of Morrisville; his mother, Ola Gertrude Stewart Snow of Mount Airy; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Snow Hamby of Mount Airy and Ann and Bill Smith of Walnut Cove; two special nieces, Billie Gail Ciano of Freehold, NJ, and Kitty Warren of Colonial Beach, VA; five special nephews, Chadwick D. Smith of Concord, J. Kyle Smith of Conover, Thomas R. Snow of Mount Airy, Derrick Snow of Williamsburg, VA, and Patrick Snow of Liverpool, England; his mother-in-law, Edna G. Hamby of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and John Neher of Seaford, VA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harlan and Virginia Hamby of Newport News, VA; and special friends, Gerald S. Schafer of Greensboro, Gene Rees of Mount Airy, the Rev. Wayne Johnson of Pilot Mountain, and Denny Eargle of Newberry, SC. In addition to his father, Mr. Snow was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Snow. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 18, 2006, at 2:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Johnson and the Rev. Loyd Pugh, and burial will be in the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 3, White Plains, NC 27031.
