Donice Jean Lawless

          Mrs. Donice Jean Lawless, age 65 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Patrick County on September 11, 1953.  She was preceded in death by her father, Earl T. Williams; a granddaughter, Erica Nichole “Nikki” Belcher; a son-in-law, James R. Beasley II; her maternal grandparents, Dillard and Arlon Hodges; her paternal grandparents, Dudley and Bertha Williams; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wade and Dot Lawless.  She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and worked at Hanesbrands.  She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She loved flowers and gardening and never met a stranger.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand.  She was an active supporter of the American Red Cross blood drives and a member of the Mountain Valley Hospice Crocheting Club.

          Surviving are her husband, Teddy Lawless of the home; one daughter, Denice Lawless of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Kevin Shane Belcher, James R. “Trey” Beasley, III; one great granddaughter, Deliah Marie Nichole Belcher; her mother, Opal H. Williams of Stuart; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Louise Williams of Stuart, Gary and Sharon Williams of Lawsonville, NC; two sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Donnie Cox of Claudville, Sharon Mabe of Stuart; one brother-in-law, Charlie Wade Lawless, Jr and wife, Carolyn of Patrick Springs; one sister-in-law, Deborah Kay Lawless of Stuart; many special nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Rachel Martin and Amy Pendleton.

          Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Gerald Melton and Dewayne Troutt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
