Miss Donna Rae Armstrong, age 54 of Mt. Airy went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 6, 2008 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Donna was an affectionate and generous resident of High Point Health CareCenter for the past five years. She was born on February 26, 1954 in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Mt. Airy High School and was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Mt. Airy. Surviving are Donna's loving parents, Donald R. and Evelyn P. Armstrong of Mt. Airy. Others surviving are her devoted sister, Susan Armstrong Chilton of Winston Salem; two nieces, Candice Chilton of Cary, Sarah Chilton of Winston Salem; two nephews, Joshua Chilton and Shane Chilton both of Winston Salem. She is also survived by one grand-niece, Grace Elizabeth Chilton of Cary; and aunt, Mary M. Botkin of Mt. Airy, two cousins, Dr. Mary "Sissy" Botkin of Menlo Park, CA and Dr. Randy M. Botkin of Barbourville, KY and many other wonderful relatives. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens on Highway 52 north in Mt. Airy, with the Rev. John Ferree presiding. The family will receive friends at the gravesite immediately following the service. Memorials in honor of Donna may be made to The Number 12 Foundation, a foundation established to aid her nephew, Joshua Chilton in his recovery from a severe accident, and to aid others with disabilities.
