Mrs. Donna Gay Prim Golding, 48, of 413 Boyd Dickens Road, Lowgap, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at the home of her sister, Louise Kincaid. Mrs. Golding was born May 16, 1959, in Surry County, a daughter of Ethel Smith Mayes and the late Ervin Prim. She was a material handler at Henredon Furniture for 15 years and a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Bruce Gregory Golding of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matthew Gregory Golding and fiancee, Maggie Tilley, and Bruce Jacob "B.J." and Kari Beth Golding, all of Lowgap; her mother, Ethel Smith Mayes of Mount Airy; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Shirley and Berman Leftwich of Cana, VA, Joyce and Greene Jones, Louise Kincaid, and Connie Hubbard, all of Mount Airy, Helen and Rex Hunter of Dobson, and Norma and Avery Dixon of Lowgap; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald and Tammy Barker of Cana, VA, and Roger Barker of Dobson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Mrs. Golding was preceded in death by an infant son, Daniel Allen Haynes; a brother, Johnny Barker; and two nephews, Terry Martin and Wesley Barker. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 11, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Pine Ridge Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Johnny Johnson, the Rev. Travis Sechrist, and the Rev. Randy Bartley, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, and other times at the home of Louise Kincaid, 104 Downing Drive, Mount Airy. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Delores Johnson and Chrystal Peele, for the love, care, and kindness shown to Donna Gay during her illness.
