Donnie Ray Gibbons

Mr. Donnie Ray Gibbons, 65, of Shallotte, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia.  Mr. Gibbons was born June 20, 1954, in Stokes County, one of five children born to the late Romey Alton and Beulah Estelle Nunn Gibbons.  Donnie served our country in the United States Army and was a self-employed builder.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Geraldine Penley Gibbons of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Andra Gore of Shallotte; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Tracie Gibbons of Rossville, GA; three grandchildren, Tiara Gibbons and Robert Gore, both of Shallotte, and Connor Gibbons of Rossville, GA; and his twin brother, Ronnie Gibbons of Raleigh.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gibbons was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Mae Gibbons Ashburn and Donie Gibbons Danley; and a brother, Larry Alton Gibbons.  Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ararat.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
