Donnie Roy White

Donnie Roy White, age 70, of Dobson, NC, fought a long and courageous battle against cancer, which ended peacefully on November 22nd, 2021 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Surry County, North Carolina, on March 16th of 1951 to Roy Garland White and Lela Agnes Fowler White who preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Cummings White; two daughters, Wendy (Chris) Higgs, and Sandy (Tim) White; two treasured grandchildren, Megan (Danny) Higgs, and Faith Higgs, and two special great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Ellie. He also leaves behind a brother, Phillip White; along with three friends he also considered his brothers, Trent Seiber, Dollie Norman, Eddie Day; and numerous close friends who he cared about deeply including his furry companion in mischief, Cooper White. Donnie had a passion for hard work and turned that into a thriving career in manufacturing for over 50 years, during which he was honored with numerous awards and recognitions. He spent his free time working on and admiring muscle cars, and remembering the days when he was driving faster than he should. Though his life was cut shorter than he would of liked, Donnie lived a fulfilling and beautiful life and in his final days, his only desire was to have more time with his wife who was and will always be his one true love. Donnie was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church and had a fierce devotion for our everlasting Healer, Jesus Christ, and hopes his family and friends will join him in Heaven one day. The family will hold a private graveside service during which Rev. Jason Johnson and Rev. Sean Joplin will officiate. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017 and would like to mention that they are eternally grateful for the care and compassion that the staff showed during Donnie’s final hours.
