Dora Davis Barker

Mrs. Dora Davis Barker, 97, of Winston Salem, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at Arber Acres Retirement Community in Winston Salem.  She was born in Lake City, Florida on September 3, 1922 to the late Chester Reed and Frances Bullard Davis.  Dora was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years.  Mom’s happiest times were being with her family for holidays, and birthday gatherings.  She is survived by her two daughters, Delores Wagner (Kenneth), Diane Beeker (Charles), and her four grandchildren, Lorie Shelton, Angela Clark, Meredith Tucker, Mary-Kathryn Woodall; seven great grandchildren, Jacob Shelton, William Shelton, Gabrielle Clark, Carson-Parry Tucker, Pearl “Roe Roe” Tucker, Franklin-Reeves Tucker, Brett- Milner Woodall, and Baby Girl Woodall to arrive in September.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Carson Barker; a sister, Mary Wilson; a brother, Cecil Davis.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Watson officiating.  Being mindful of social distancing the family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:30 until 12:30 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
