Dora Mae White Walls

Mrs. Dora Mae White Walls, 71, of 121 Camelot Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, January 10, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Walls was born September 16, 1937, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Melvin and Mary Ida Frost White. She retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery and attended Pine Ridge Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Conn Walls of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Dale and Bobby Dale Williams of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald "Huck" Walls of Mount Airy and Roger and Crystal Gail Walls of Lowgap; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Blankenship of Whitehead, Bonnie Mitchell of WV, and Gail and Charlie Youngblood of Fries, VA; and a brother, Lewis Dwayne "Bucky" White of Lenoir. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walls was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Verlin "Butch" White. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 12, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Woody Flippen, the Rev. Johnny Johnson, and the Rev. Travis Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
