Doris Whisenhunt Banks

Mrs. Doris Whisenhunt Banks, 66, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, Saturday, July 2, 2022.  She was born in Forsyth County, September 1, 1955, to the late John Lee and Viola Keaton Whisenhunt.  Mrs. Banks was employed with Northern Regional Hospital for over twenty years.  She loved camping, the beach, and spending time with her family.  Mrs. Banks loved her children and was very proud of her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nana”.  She delighted in sharing information about the family with friends.  She was constantly revealing her many talents through the crafts she made.  Left to cherish her memory are her children, Laura Pressnell and Brian, Roy “T.J.” Banks and Carissa; grandchildren, Ashley Banks, Austin Banks, and PFC Andrew Marion; step grandchildren, Lexi Valentine and Alex Gunter; sisters Patsy Thomas and Bill, Magdaline Whisenhunt and Ken, and Wanda Bourne; a brother Michael Whisenhunt and Theresa; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Cathy Banks; several nieces and nephews; special work friends, Betty, JoAnn, Elaine, and Dan.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Anthony “Tony” Banks; and a sister Carol Lafferty.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randall Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, July 5, 2022,  from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
