Doris Louise Simmons Bingman

Mrs. Doris Louise Simmons Bingman, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Bingman was born May 1, 1936, in Surry County, to the late Robert and Lettie Gravely Simmons. She was a homemaker who loved looking after her family. She is survived by a son, Tony Bingman of Christiansburg, VA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen and Ronnie Davis and Judy Puckett, all of Mount Airy; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Barbara Simmons and Bobby and Imogene Simmons, all of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bingman was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bingman Jr.; three sisters, Dolly Simmons Tate, Mary Simmons Haynes, and Ruby Simmons Gammons; and a brother-in-law, Holly Puckett. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Greg Goodson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
