Doris Louise (McMillion) Findley

Ms. Doris Louise McMillion Findley, age 89 of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Findley was born on March 3, 1935, in Pocahontas, Virginia to the late Turner and Maggie Odham McMillion. Memall was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She retired from Ocie’s Restaurant where she worked for many years. Memall will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her two daughters, Shelia Allen, Tamrin Linville and Richard Grimes; her bonus daughter, Sandy Wilcox; three sons, James Edward Bevins, Arden Gene “Kelly Joe” Wilcox, Jr. and Alma, Ricky Gene Wilcox; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Rose Bevins and Keith, Becky Bevins, Alvin Bevins and Brandi, Travis Bevins, Dawn Edwards and Coy, Danny Lee Hardy and Krystle, Dillon Wilcox and Carissa, Amber Wilcox, Dakota Wilcox and Sarah, Ashley Stoltzfus and Tyler, TK Largen, Gregory Linville, JJ Bevins; one special great-grandchild, Xavier Largen; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Findley was preceded in death by a son, Vent Lee Herold; son-in-law, Paul Allen; three brothers, Jackie Lee McMillion, Billy Ray McMillion, John T. "Bubby" McMillion; and her best friend “Bella”. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, North Carolina. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
