Doris Louise Tolbert Jessup

Mrs. Doris Louise Tolbert Jessup, age 86, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Surry Community Nursing Facility in Mt. Airy. She was born on December 31, 1937 in Surry County to the late Rufus Tolbert Sr., and the late Lucy Willard Tolbert. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Teresa Brooks; son, Allan Jessup (Dawn); grandchildren, Johnathan Jessup, Marie Payne, Olivia Hiatt (Jared), Ashley Bowman (Ricky); great-grandchildren, Lydia Bowman, Eve Payne, Maren Hiatt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by her husband, James Junior Jessup. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
