Doris Marie Marshall

Mrs. Doris Marie Marshall, 92, of Pinnacle, NC, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born in Stokes County on May 30, 1929, to the late William Vaulter and Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Stewart Moran.  Marie married the love of her life, Junior Franklin Marshall, November 28, 1947.  Together they farmed tobacco and raised three children, Sylvia, Larry, and Kenny.  A wonderful cook, filling the home with scents of fried chicken, and Kenny’s favorite chocolate pie.  “Sweet Marie” was kind to all that knew her.  Marie was a member of the former Jesus Christ Church in White Plains but felt at home at Rock House Primitive Baptist Church where she walked to services with her mama and sister when she was young.  In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband Junior; brothers, Thurman, Ray, Weldon, and Winfred; sisters, Dorothy and May.  She is survived by her children, Sylvia Fagg, Larry Marshall and Karen, Kenny Marshall and Jamie; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Presnell, Stephen Fagg and Amanda, Larry Marshall, Jr. and Ciji, Aasha Marshall and Dustin, Ashley Bowman and Turner, Teia Mabe and Jered, Garrett Marshall and Stephanie, and Neal Marshall; seven great grandchildren, Ryan Presnell, Devan Fagg, Mason Fagg, Nolan Marshall, Tucker Marshall, Harper Bowman, and Veda Bowman; a brother-in-law Glenn Marshall and Faye; and sisters-in-law, Ethel Crews, Shirley Marshall, and Dale Marshall; several nieces, nephews; great nieces, nephews, and great-great nieces, nephews.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Rock House Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Rodney Marshall officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
