Dorothy Mae Puckett King Bowman

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Puckett King Bowman, age 83, of Ararat, Virginia, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Patrick County to the late Walter Puckett and Frances Bowman Puckett Young.  Left to cherish her memory are sons and daughter-in-law, Barnell King, Johnny King (Carol); grandchildren; Christian “Chrissy” Gwyn (Brad), Ashley Mabe and fiancé Derrick Whitaker, Mitch Mabe (Penny Warren), Nicole King, John King, Amanda Danley (Kevin), Morgan King, Jordan King, Joseph King; great-grandchildren, Kalie Mabe, Ashton Gwyn, Malakai Smith, Laken Warren, Mariah King, Andrew Wall, Madison Wall Freeman; great great-grandchild, Bentley Freeman; sister-in-law, Sandra Puckett; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her first husband, Vester King; second husband, Aldie Bowman; children, Dianne King Mabe; Rebecca Lynn King, Dorothy Marie King; son, Richard King, brothers, Cannon, Theodore, Holland, and Roy Puckett.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the King Family Cemetery with services conducted by Bro. George Lambert, friend of the family Eric Sawyers, and Rev. Dean Eaton.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 until time for the service at the King Family Cemetery.
