Dorothy Hutson Gravely Davis

Mrs. Dorothy Hutson Gravely Davis, 67, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday evening February 16, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on June 17, 1949 to the late Jack Wilson Hutson and Phyllis Matilda Sawyers Hutson Chappell. Mrs. Davis was a registered nurse with many dedicated years at Central Continuing Care in Mount Airy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Mrs. Davis is survived by her loving husband, Tony Howard Davis; her daughters and sons-in-law, Candy Cruise and Kevin, Cooky Weddle and Greg, and Callie Collins and Kevin; her son, Jeremy Davis; eight grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie Williams and Rodney, Bonnie Reynolds and Todd, and Roy Horton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Horton. Funeral services will be held on Sunday February 19, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy at 3:00 PM with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Garden. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service time at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
