Dorothy Lee Edwards

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Lee Edwards, 81, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Rickie and Lillie Edwards, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Edwards was born November 22, 1929, in Surry County, to the late James Charlie and Nannie Wolfe Marion. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of Mayberry Baptist Church. Mrs. Edwards is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Roy Allen of Rural Hall and Janice and David Lowe of Mount Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Craig and Linda Edwards and Rickie and Lillie Edwards, all of Dobson; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Nancy Marion of Mount Airy; and a special son-in-law, Brent Wall and his wife, Melinda, of Dobson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Columbus Edwards; two daughters, Joyce Edwards Wall and Vickie Jo Edwards; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Mayberry Baptist Church, with Dr. Craig Edwards and the Rev. Brian Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Mayberry Baptist Church.
