Dorothy Helen Thomas Gravley

Mrs. Dorothy Helen Thomas Gravley Age 84 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Thursday morning June 6, 2013 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Mrs. Gravley was born March 18, 1929 in Surry County to the late Calvin and Annie Mae Sprinkle Thomas, she was retired from Boyles Shoe Store and was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband Theodore Clinton Gravley of the home. One daughter and son-in-law LuAnne and Steve Hill of Claudville, two grandchildren Stacey Shepherd and husband Chuck of Claudville and Erin Hill of Charlottesville, VA, two great grandchildren Kaden Shepherd and Jason Shepherd, two sisters and brothers-in-law Joy Mae and Charles Shore of Winston Salem and Frances and Eng Bunker of Pilot Mountain and one brother and sister-in-law Wade and Dawn Thomas of Raleigh. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gravley was preceded in death by one brother Roger Thomas. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 8, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church with services conducted by Rev. Dennis "Bud" Cameron with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Salem United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salem United Methodist Church cemetery Fund 2095 Wards Gap Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. Moody Funeral Home will be assisting the Gravley Family.
