Dorothy Louise James Reavis

Mrs. Dorothy Louise James Reavis, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday night, January 1, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Reavis was born August 9, 1938, in Tyler, TX, the daughter of the late Thelton and Anne Fiala James. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Gary Utt and Stephanie and Justin Hawks; two sons and daughter-in-law, George Reavis III and Elaine, and Christopher Reavis; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Roberts. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reavis was preceded in death by her husband, George Raymond Reavis, Jr. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Alex Martin. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time for the service at the church.
