Dorothy Virginia Mount Fairchild

Mrs. Dorothy Virginia Mount Fairchild, age 82 of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning November 20, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born July 10, 1942, in Manasquan, NJ to the late William Arthur Yetman Mount and Mary Fitzner Mount. Mrs. Fairchild was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan (Patrick Mahomes) and a New York Yankees fan (Aaron Judge), she loved these two guys more than anyone else on the teams. She was always the life of the party who loved life and would always speak to everyone. Mrs. Fairchild is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Anthony Mangine; her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Tami Fairchild; six grandchildren, Nicholas Martin, Brenden Fairchild, Kaitlin Fairchild, Dylan Fairchild, Austin Fairchild, and Zachery Fairchild; two great grandchildren, Jayce Fairchild and Killian Fairchild; and by several other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fairchild was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fairchild; two sons, William “Billy” Fairchild and Kenny Fairchild; and by her two sisters, Peggy Mount Callahan and Anita Mount. There are no formal services planned for Mrs. Fairchild at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
