Dorothy Noah

Mrs. Dorothy Emaline Montgomery Noah “Aunt Dot”, 92 of Ararat, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 surrounded by her family.  Mrs. Noah was born on February 3, 1929 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Hie and Sallie Barnard Montgomery.  Mrs. Noah was a loving wife, sister, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, and friend to all that knew her.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Aunt Dot had a passion for sewing and growing flowers.  But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.  Left to cherish her memories are her sisters and brother-in-law, Ruby Montgomery Mankins and Maxine Montgomery King and husband Haywood; brothers, Acie Montgomery, Franklin Montgomery, Barnard Montgomery and wife Love; special niece, Donna Mankins; special nephew, Ronnie Mankins; many nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews, many great-great nieces, and nephews, as well as cousins and friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Noah was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Warren Noah; brothers, Folger Montgomery, Floyd Montgomery, Winfred Montgomery and Roosevelt Montgomery.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Barnard Family Cemetery with burial to follow.  Mrs. Noah will lie-in-state on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Barnard Family Cemetery Fund, c/o Sylvia B.
