Dorothy Lou (Key) Riggs

Mrs. Dorothy Lou Key Riggs, age 91, of Mount Airy, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Riggs was born on July 29, 1932, in Surry County to the late Lawrence Webb and Vergie Hodges Key.  Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Parsons and wife Susan, Timothy Parsons and wife Dara; grandchildren, Allison Parsons, Brittany Parsons; a sister, Peggy Key Shuskey; a brother, Phil Key; along with a niece and nephew.  A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tony Holder officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 430 Rockford Road, Dobson, North Carolina 27017 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
