Dorothy Pruett Vogler

Dorothy Pruett Vogler, 82, born September 16, 1927, passed through the door to her new mansion in Heaven on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. She retired from her love of nursing after 25 years of service at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Dot was preceded in death by husband, Ben Vogler, Sr.; her parents, Sam and Gladys Pruett; and brother, Conway Pruett. Surviving are brothers, Sam Pruett and wife Peggy of Pfafftown, Jack Pruett and wife Fran of Hampstead, NH, and Jim Pruett and wife Lilian of Chapel Hill; and sister, Millie Snider and husband Paul of Nashville, TN. Also surviving are sons, Ben Vogler, Jr. and friend, Stefanie, of Winston-Salem, Fred Vogler and wife Suzanne of Clemmons, and Chris Vogler and wife Shelle of Durham; and daughter, Melanie Hiatt of Mocksville. Dot was especially proud of her 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and loved them very much. Gratitude is expressed to her kind and loyal friends, Lucille Floyd, Brenda Edmond, and Jackie Shelton. Family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be held at Moody's on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.
