Dr. Stephen Reed Childrers

Dr. Stephen Reed Childers, age 79, of Sparta, NC passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born on February 1, 1938 in Clark Co., Kentucky to the late Claude William Childers and the late Martha Martin Childers Williamson. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, and was a retired Chiropractor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Claudia Sessioms. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Pace Childers of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Brandy Skipper of Conway, SC; a son, Robert Howe of Marion, SC; three grandchildren, Kelan Skipper, Blake Skipper, Presley Skipper; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Sandra Childers of Charleston, SC; three nephews Stephen Childers, John Childers and Matthew Benton and a niece, Angie Capps. A memorial service will be held at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson at a later date.
