Durward Wadesworth "Red" Boyles

Mr. Durward Wadesworth "Red" Boyles, 90, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Boyles was born April 30, 1917, in Stokes County, to the late Samuel Isaac and Eliza Gordon Boyles. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Gail and Kenneth Branch of Mount Airy and Jeanette Jessup of Pilot Mountain; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Gaynell Boyles of Pilot Mountain and Dale and Ashley Boyles of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Justin Boyles, Kayla Branch, Shawn Jessup, Scott Boyles, and Mendy Hiatt; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Boyles of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Gerald Jones and the Rev. Howard Tucker, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
