Dusty Knott

Mr. Swanson Jerome “Dusty” Knott, 65, of Mount Airy, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday morning May 4, 2020.  He was born in Surry County to the late Allen and Loretta Smith Knott.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.  Dusty proudly served our country in the US Marines.  Dusty and his mother-in-law, Faye, shared a love of riding his Harley Davidson.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 31 years, Jeanette Easter Knott; daughter, Amanda Leigh Stager; sons and a daughter-in-law, Dustin Farmer, Garrett Knott, and Austin and Jada Knott; 7 grandchildren, Cody Farmer, Logan Farmer, Olivia Knott, Eythan Stager, Elyjah Stager, Jackson Knott, and Roland Smith; sister, Jacqueline Knott; several nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Jimmie Easter; and special friends, Tim Tucker, RJ Tolbert, and Greg Dorminy.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Knott was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen “Donnie” Knott and Gregory Allen Knott; and his mother-in-law, Faye Easter.  Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings (COVID-19), there will not be any services for Dusty at this time but a celebration of Dusty’s life will be held at a later date.  Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy is assisting the Knott family.
