Eara Elizabeth Scott

Mrs. Eara Elizabeth Gentry Scott, age 93, of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019, at Central Continuing Care.  Mrs. Scott was born in Surry County on January 17, 1926, to Robert Ford and Carrie Miller Gentry.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.  Surviving are daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Ann D’Amico, Janice “Pat” and Steve Mabe; a son, Mike Scott; and grandchildren, Cory Holder and Tanner D’Amico.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Scott; sisters, Helen Carlisle, Lucille McMillian, Nancy Adkins, Billie Wilkins and Nellie McHone; and brothers, Robert Gentry, Wayne Gentry, Charles Gentry and Paul Gentry; and a son-in-law, Phillip D’Amico, Jr.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 6, 2020, at Moody Funeral Home by Rev. Teddy Hiatt.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday one hour prior to the service.
