Earnest Lee "Butch" McMillian, Jr.

Mr. Earnest Lee “Butch” McMillian, Jr., 69, of Cana, VA, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy. Mr. McMillian was born January 14, 1952, in Carroll County, VA, the son of the late Earnest Lee and Media Belle McMillian McMillian. Earnest was a truck driver at Horton’s Produce Inc. for many years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Margaret Secrest McMillian of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessie McMillian of Cana, VA, and LeAnn and Chris Pyles of Ararat, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Vicky McMillian of Cana, VA; nine grandchildren, Kaleb Wall, Jarrett Thomas, Jacob Thomas, Levi Thomas, Jasmine Pyles and her boyfriend, Tim Everhart, Isaac Pyles, Amelia McMillian, William McMillian, and Sarah McMillian; a half-sister and her husband, Vickie and Spencer Freeman of Dobson; and a half-brother and his wife, Wade and Margie Ayers of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. McMillian was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Lane McMillian. The family is planning a memorial for a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
