Eddie Ray Combs

Mr. Eddie Ray "Wormie" Combs, 57, of Cana, VA, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010, at his home. Mr. Combs was born July 22, 1952, in Surry County, to Marvin Edward Combs and the late Clarsie Mae Dawson Combs. He was a member of Paul's Creek Baptist Church and was a truck driver as long as his health permitted. He loved trucks and being on the road. Mr. Combs is survived by his daughter, Misty Combs; his son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Alicia Combs; grandchildren, Haley Combs and Madison Combs, both of Cana, VA, and Zachery Jones of Mount Airy; his father, Marvin Edward Combs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Larry Berrier and Janice and Dennie Hawks, all of Cana, VA, and Jean and Ivan Vass of Jonesville; and twin brother, caregiver, cook, chauffer, and best friend, Teddy Gray Combs of Cana, VA; and the mother of his children, Debbie Combs of Cana, VA. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 7, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Larry Jones and the Rev. Verlon Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Paul's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
