Eddie Lane Jones

Mr. Eddie Lane Jones, 50, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Jones was born March 24, 1958, in Surry County, to Helen Beatrice McMillian Jones Mitchell and the late John Marvin Jones. He was a retired truck driver. Surviving are his wife, Linda Faye Surratt Jones of the home; a daughter, Shelly Lynn Jones of the home; his mother, Helen Beatrice Jones Mitchell of Cana, VA; several aunts, including a special aunt, Belinda McMilllian; and numerous cousins. In addition to his father, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Mitchell; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Bertie McMillian; and his paternal grandparents, Ed and Etta Jones. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Darrell Tate and Mr. Weldon Jones. Burial will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
