Edgar Lee Booth

Mr. Edgar Lee Booth, age 83, of Charity, Virginia passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his homeplace.  He was born in Patrick County on December 22, 1934 to the late Claude Edgar Booth and Mamie Rakes Booth.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel “Polly” Turner Booth; and seven siblings, Junior Booth, Grady Booth, Lorene B. Puckett, I.J. Booth, Ada B. Wood, Ovilla B. Bowling, and Dena B. Reynolds.  Edgar was a lifetime member of the Smith River Wildlife Club.  He truly enjoyed animals of all kinds; he especially loved his dogs.

        Mr. Booth is survived by a daughter, Pamela Booth Hall of Charity; two granddaughters, Tiffany Hall and Bethany Hall; father of the granddaughters, Steve Hall of Stuart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

        Funeral services for Mr. Booth will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 12:00 noon at Charity Primitive Baptist Church with Pastors Mike Varner and Rick Randall officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of the service at the church.  Serving as Pallbearers are Glenn Booth, Robert “Bubba” Chandler, Cecil Lawson, Chris Pendleton, C.W.
