Edgar Calvin Brooks

Mr. Edgar Calvin Brooks, age 65 of Mt. Airy, husband of Carolyn Elizabeth Lewis Brooks, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2006 at his home. Mr. Brooks was born in Surry County, August 21, 1940 to General Harrison and Lillie Viola Whittington Brooks. He served our country in the United States Navy, and was retired from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center where he worked as a Bio-Medical Electronics Technician. Surviving are his loving wife Carolyn Elizabeth Lewis Brooks of the home; a son, Dana Waring Brooks of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Matthew Alexander Brooks and Kayla Marie Brooks; a sister, Betty Sue Morton of Mt. Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Linda Brooks of Clemmons; and very special in laws, Delmer and Juanita Lewis and Hilda Lewis Tesh. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 31, 2006 at Indian Grove Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Tommy Floyd. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 1326 N. Main St. Mt.
