Mrs. Edith Allene Nunn Anderson, 94, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, April 07, 2016 at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living in Mt. Airy. She was born in Stokes County on December 26, 1921 to the late John and Eula Carson Nunn. Mrs. Anderson was a farmer and homemaker and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger and Joe Wallace of Mt. Airy, June and Fred McCraw of White Plains, Brenda and Ray Goad of Mt. Airy; sons and daughter-in-law, Jack Anderson of Mt. Airy, Mickey and Deserath Anderson of Lowgap, Jimmie Anderson of Lowgap, Darrell Anderson of Mt. Airy; ten grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Pat Dodson, Peggy Belk; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, James Ervin Anderson; a daughter, Jeannie Anderson; a sister, Ethel Cheek; a brother, Carl Nunn. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Twelve Oaks and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care given to their mother.
