Edith Lynn Cashwell

Miss Edith Lynn Cashwell, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital.  Miss Cashwell was born January 13, 1933, in Anson County, the daughter of the late Gaston Barnabus and Viola Stephens Cashwell.  She graduated from Greensboro College (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro) with a degree in education.  She taught in the Miami, FL, and Atlanta, GA, school systems and retired from Mount Airy City Schools.  She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Mount Airy.  She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, George Bernard and Frankie Cashwell and John E. and Ann Cashwell; and several nieces and nephews.  Due to the current COVID pandemic, there will be a service at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 1909 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Cashwell family.
