Edith Mae Clark

Mrs. Edith Mae Tatum Clark, age 102 of Stuart, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at her home.  She was born on September 1, 1919, to the late James Sherman Tatum and Maggie Hylton Tatum Clark.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Willie Clark; one daughter, Louise Clark Fuller; one son, Willie W. Clark; two grandsons, Ronald Dale Clark, A.J. Clark; one son-in-law, John Staples; one daughter-in-law, Linda Nowlin Clark; one sister, Magaline Brown; and six brothers, John, Charlie, Gabel, Clarence, Matthew, and Casper Tatum.  Mae was a longtime member of Tatum Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, serving as Mother of the Church, clerk, and Assistant Treasurer.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She enjoyed cooking, working in her garden, traveling, and keeping in touch with her family and friends.  She was always willing to help out when needed.

         Surviving is two daughters, Vanessa Staples, and Susan Clark both of Stuart; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

         Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Tatum Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A wake will be held 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 730 East Church St., Suite 13, Martinsville, VA 24112.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
