Edith Orene Hawks

Miss Edith Orene Hawks of Cana passed away at Twin County Regional Hospital. Miss Hawks was born in Carroll County, April 23, 1933 to the late Cleaver Clifton and Emaline Ward Hawks. She loved her Lord, her loving spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her loving spirit was a great example for all. Miss Hawks is survived by two sisters, Joanne and Dan Inman, Sanford, NC, Frankie and Jim Thomas, Cana, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Cora Hawks, brother and guardian Jackie and wife Juanita Hawks all of Cana; nieces, Linda Kay Edwards, Janie Dutton; and nephews, Carl Hawks, Bruce Thomas Jonathan Hawks. In addition to her parents, Miss Hawks was preceded in death by two brothers, Burley Odell Hawks and Junior Hawks. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David (Buster) Sechrist. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
