Edith May Thomas Ledbetter

Mrs. Edith May Thomas Ledbetter, age 83 of Mt. Airy, NC, formerly of Hamlin, PA, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Hilton, NY, April 24, 1925 to Llewellyn and Lula Mae Christie Thomas. She was a loving mother, grandmother and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church of Mt. Airy, NC. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Rogers and husband, Jim of Scranton, PA; Melody Hickman of King, NC; Susan Avronio and husband Robert of Factoryville, PA; three sons, David Clark and wife Dana of Dalton, PA; Mark Clark and wife Kathy of Hop Bottom, PA; Carl "Buddy" Jones, Jr. and fiancee Rose Hastie of Corriganville, MD; twenty four grandchildren; thirty nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren a sister, Lucy Adams of Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ledbetter was preceded in death by husbands, Rev. L. G. Ledbetter; and Carl Jones, Sr.; a daughter, Dawn Turano; a sister, Julia Hough; and two brothers, Elmer Thomas and Llewellyn Thomas. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Paul Bunke. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for Mrs. Ledbetter has been established at RR1 Box 1074, Hop Bottom, PA 18824.
