Edna Coe Evans

Mrs. Edna Coe Evans, 96, widow of Mr. Coley Evans, of Dobson, passed away peacefully on Friday May 9, 2008 at Elkin Healthcare after an extended illness. She was born in Surry County on April 9, 1912 to the late Ernie Monroe and Ella Mooney Coe. She was a homemaker and a member of Copeland Baptist Church.
Survivors include a niece, Brenda and husband Earlie Coe of Dobson; a nephew Alan and wife Susan Coe and great-nieces Lori Coe Wyble, Shannon Coe Brettl, Myra Coe and Jennifer Coe White. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by a sister Annie Laura Coe Coe and a brother Leo Coe. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Stony Knoll United Methodist Church with Rev. Zack White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 until time for the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Stony Knoll United Methodist Church cemetery fund c/o Dorothy McCormick 1085 Stony Knoll Road Dobson, NC 27017.
