Edna Maxine Dixon Hill

Mrs. Edna Maxine Dixon Hill, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 19, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hill was born May 26, 1940, in Grayson County, VA, one of six children born to the late Arthur and Dora Shaw Dixon. Edna was the owner and operator of Hill House Sportswear in Cana, VA, for 25 years and was a friend to all. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Berlie Russell Hill; a sister, Mildred Dixon Bartlett; several nieces and nephews, including three special nieces, Tammy Dixon Cummings, Kelly Dixon Patton, and Lara Dixon Payne; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a sweet exchange daughter, Catherine Sundberg. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Dixon Richardson; and three brothers, A.J. Dixon, Bobby Dixon, and Jerry Dixon. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Gary Horton and the Rev. Ronnie Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
