Edward Mitchell "Eddie" Marion

Mr. Edward Mitchell "Eddie" Marion, 58, of 739 Haystack Road, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson. Mr. Marion was born November 4, 1949, in Surry County, to Avis Bowlin Marion and the late Herman Edward Marion. Eddie was a self-employed mechanic. He is survived by a son, Martin Wayne "Marty" Marion of Mount Airy; his mother, Avis Bowlin Marion of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Charles Lockaby of Pickens, SC; three nieces; a nephew; and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 27, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sam Holder officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Marion home, 739 Haystack Road, Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to High Country Hospice, P.O. Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Russell Hodges family for their acts of kindness and love shown to Eddie throughout the years.
