Edward Dale "Ed" Stanley

Mr. Edward Dale "Ed" Stanley, 76, husband of Mrs. Amolene Stanley Stanley, of Dobson passed away at his home on Thursday October 2, 2008 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on July 17, 1932 to the late John L. and Wiser Coe Stanley. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 53 years, Amolene of the home; two sons, Barry Stanley and Ricky Stanley both of Dobson; five grandchildren, Corey and wife April Stanley, Candesia Arnold, Lance Corporal Raymond Stanley, Christine Stanley and Brittany Stanley; three great-grandchildren Trenton Stanley, Walker Stanley and A.J. Arnold; a brother and sister-in-law Hal and Hazel Stanley of Dobson. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Sunday at Stony Knoll United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Jimmy Lawton and burial to follow. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stony Knoll United Methodist Church cemetery fund, c/o Dorothy McCormick 1085 Stony Knoll Road Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and neighbors who have stood by them during Mr. Stanley's illness. A special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Libby Marion and Carol Castevens for all the compassionate care they have given.
