Mr. Edward "E.P." Parr Thomas age 79 of 382 Bear Trail Road, Cana, VA, husband of Gladys Alease Thomas Thomas passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2007. Mr. Thomas was born in Carroll County on June 28,1929 son of the late Charlie Moses Thomas and Mary Jane Edwards Thomas and was the former owner of Thomas Grocery, a Carroll County school bus driver and a veteran of the US Army Surviving are his wife, Gladys Alease Thomas Thomas of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Melissa Thomas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Mike Collins of Ararat, NC and Janet and Marvin Spicer, Jr. of Dobson; of Cana; six grandchildren; Dawn Spence, Neal Horton, Lheanne Daniels, Marvin Lee Spicer, Jeffrey Chase Thomas and Hannah Brooke Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Austin Spence and Sarah Spence; a sister, Elsie Jones of Cana and a brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Shirley Thomas of Cana. In addition to his parents Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, John Thomas and a sister, Sarah Alice Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Roland McCraw, Rev. Russell Vass, Rev. Roger Mears and Rev. Noel Hawks with burial to follow in the Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery with military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 1115 of Hillsville, VA. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Saturday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
