Edward Thomas

Mr. Roy Edward Thomas, 69, of Lowgap, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born March 24, 1953, in Surry County to the late Harold Edward Thomas and Vera Arrington Thomas.  He was known as a jack of all trades at Brintle Travel Plaza for over 42 years, but he loved being a mechanic mostly.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 10 years, Deborah Inman Thomas of the home; his favorite daughter, Oreo; children, Jessica Boles and Nicholas, and Ronald Edward Thomas and Ronda Denise Spear; step-children, Tabatha Brannock, and Abraham, and Bridgett Payne and Kevin; grandchildren, Lawson Almond, Kaylee Boles, Paisley Boles and Tripp Tennyson; step-grandchildren, Emily Brannock, Brooklyn Brannock, Lucas Brannock, Levi Payne, and Maci Payne; sisters, Mary Lou Lowe, and Linda and Chris Lawson; and brothers, Billy Wayne Thomas and Kathy, and Roger Dale Thomas and Mary Ellen.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by two infant children, Kelly Ann Thomas, and Kenneth Andrew Thomas.  A service of worship and celebration will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Moody Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with the Pastor Chris Martin officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 ~ 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Thomas family.
