Edwin Needham Hayes

Mr. Edwin Needham Hayes, 86, of 236 Honey Locust Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Mr. Hayes was born September 4, 1923, in Surry County, son of the late Montgomery L. and Molly Ausburne Hayes. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Ladonia Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister, Johnsie Hayes Wheeler of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by five brothers. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 17, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
