Elbert Columbus Niten

Mr. Elbert Columbus Niten, 62 of Ararat, Virginia, passed away on, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy. Mr. Niten was born December 28, 1959, in Surry County, to the late Edgar and Icy Barnard Niten. Elbert was a loving husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Surviving is his wife, Lisa Atkinson Niten; stepson, Devin Cooke and wife Brittany; three grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne Cox and husband Bobby, Shirley Martin and special friend, Victor Mace, Nancy Plaster; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward Niten and wife Sarah; a special niece, Sue Cox; along with several special nieces and nephews. Mr. Niten was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Icy Barnard Niten, one brother, Earl Wesley Niten. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buford Jessup officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
