Elder James Stephen Moseley, 77, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, at his home. Elder Moseley was born September 9, 1940, in Surry County, the son of the late Lacy James and Virginia Wilson Moseley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and was a member of Round Peak Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Moseley owned and operated JS Moseley Equipment. Among the many who will always cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanne Howell Lohr Moseley; a son, Carl Moseley; his stepchildren and their spouses, Debra and Dillard Burnette, Gary and JoAnn Lohr, Mark and Mary Lohr, Todd and Robin Lohr, and Clay Lohr; a grandson, Jeremy Maurer; seven stepgrandchildren; ten great-stepgrandchildren; a sister, Penny Moseley; a niece, Lacy Griffith; and many cousins and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Elder Moseley was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Delp Moseley. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Elder Carl Terry and Elder Ivan Payne officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
